Meet the team: Steven and Viorel
Steven and Viorel have both been working as managers at bing chillin CBD since day one and have now helped build the store into what it is today. With them being common faces around the store we asked them a few questions about their time here!
What are you guys up to outside of bing chillin?
Steven: I am doing a stage 3 culinary to earn my hotel management diploma. Through this, I want to learn how to properly manage restaurants In Australia. With my diploma and the skills I gained through 10 years of kitchen and hospitality experience, open my restaurant here.
Viorel: I am currently in my 2nd year of Bachelor of Fine Arts specialising in gold and silver smithing. Learning about how to manipulate metals and materials using digital software and modern tools to express art has been enjoyable.
What is most enjoyable about working here?
Steven: In Melbourne, I notice everything is very green, the trees and everything compared to other countries. The people here are also very chill and friendly and they love chatting with us which I love too. When customers are happy I am happy, some of them even remember our name!
Viorel: The people, with my time working in restaurants, I learnt the customers you get are dependent on the restaurant and here I am very lucky as the customers are very nice and friendly.
What is your favourite item?
Steven: The flavour I love is coconut pandan. Bingsu back at home is usually shaved ice with syrup on top but here they shave the syrup itself and I find that is much more enjoyable.
Viorel: A lot! Pandan, coffee, pistachio, ube, lychee, mango, everything!
